Internet Privacy - British Govt must act

"Is every social networker really aware that technically, all pictures and information uploaded on social networking profiles can be accessed and used by anyone on the Web?"

After failing to apply EU data policy rules that restrict internet advertising tracking, Britain has been given a warning from the EU who have started legal action against them.

The warning asks Britain to 'explain or change the way it interprets EU rules because it currently allows interception when it is unintentional or when a tracker has "reasonable grounds" to believe that consent was given.'

The European Commission says that information on any user can not be tracked or analysed unless the user gives explicit consent.

Britain has 2 months to respond to this warning before the EU may issue more warnings or eventually take the British government to court.
