Tweenbots

Browsing through Geekologie i found this adorable little fella!

The creator of these cute little robots is Kacie Kinzer, a student at New York University, who explained on the tweenbots website:

Tweenbots are human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter. Rolling at a constant speed, in a straight line, Tweenbots have a destination displayed on a flag, and rely on people they meet to read this flag and to aim them in the right direction to reach their goal.

It's first mission was to get from the north-east corner of washington square park to the south-west corner. Apparently this took 42 minutes, with 29 people helping. Below is a map of it's journey, and just some random and oh-so-sweeeet pictures of the little robot. There is also a video on the website.
